What is fika? Fika is a Swedish tradition that centers on taking a break to enjoy a hot drink and a snack, with the focus more on socializing than on the food or drink itself. The word fika is pronounced “fee-kuh.”
Baking has always been a significant part of my life, especially growing up in Sweden. Most Sundays, my mom would bake a sponge cake, and we’d gather for fika. As I got older, I happily took over the tradition. Below are some pictures from a recent trip to Sweden.
